Home construction is a process that has different stages but not many know what is done. The general attitude is, as long as my house is complete and well-constructed, why do I need to know the details? To estimate the cost of the construction, hours consumed, and the manpower needed, then it is important for you to know the construction process. Let us look just briefly on how construction is done and the basic processes followed.
Floor plans must be developed before any construction can be done. The final plans are then taken to the municipal officer. A building permit will only be issued after the municipal officer has approved the plans. Other than inspecting the site, the homebuilders must test the soil, carry out other environmental tests and also establish the capacity of the ground.
At the land where the construction is to take place, thorough preparation is to be made. Removal of the topmost soil is done. Excavation of the site follows. Concrete slabs that supports the wall foundation are formed and poured; they are termed as footings. What follows next is the wall foundations being erected. You might get a call from the homebuilders on how they will build the floors.
Here, the frame is erected. The use of exterior sheeting in framing is most common even though there are other techniques. It is in this third stage that the doors and windows are fitted. It is important to note that the frames can also be constructed on the ground and once done, they are lifted in place.
The installation and construction of the basement floor is done at this stage of the house construction process. One more thing that will be done at this stage is electrical wiring, heating and cooling not forgetting the plumbing works. The house inspection by the safety and standard officer is also done at this point. Any mistake noticed by the safety inspector is rectified before the job continues and this ensures that the house is safe and up to the required standard.
The Inside and Outside Works
This is the fourth stage of construction. The house is constructed from the inside and from the outside at the same time and this means; the workers should work extra hard and extra careful. From the inside the warming up section is set up and the cooling systems are also put up. The barrier that is used for the steam is set up. The beautification of the side of the house is done at this stage. The kitchen is well set at this final stage and the wardrobes and washrooms are also laid at this point.
The few points outlined above are just but a few of the many things that happen during the construction of any house The contractor that you have given the job need to keep you up to date with every stage that and everything that happens to ensure that you make changes where necessary.
